Focuses on helping individuals to establish good financial health through well-planned and
executed goals; developing better spending habits and behaviors; and learning to consciously
manage their money. Workshops are available and can be customized and held onsite or at
other locations for businesses and organizations.
Participants gain an understanding of tracking expenses and developing spending plans that
lead to the creation of savings. The importance of positive credit is emphasized as clients
work to overcome their barriers to homeownership. Credit scores are reviewed, and
discussions will include improving scores, on-time bill payment, credit card usage, avoiding
scams, managing and reducing debt and other related topics.
Helps individuals and families learn the basics to become successful, responsible first-time
homebuyers. This process will empower them to navigate the journey and make informed
decisions. Through workshops and one-on-one sessions, participants will gain an understanding of the roles of all who are involved in the process (i.e., real estate agents, loan officers, inspectors).
Through eHome America, REACH offers an interactive online education program for
prospective homebuyers and others interested in obtaining homeownership education.
Participants must use REACH’s unique link exactly as shown to register for the course:
Provides ongoing support to homeowners once they are in their homes. Post-purchase
education and counseling promotes homeownership sustainability, financial capability, home maintenance and community engagement.
Through this program, REACH provides budget, credit and homeownership counseling to
employees of the University of Kentucky and Samaritan Hospital. The employees can then
receive financial assistance from their employers and REACH to purchase an affordable home
in Fayette County.
Through this program, current recipients of Section 8 federal assistance can use their housing
vouchers toward the purchase of a home. REACH provides budget, credit and homeownership education to their program participants. The current participating providers of Section 8 assistance include the Lexington-Fayette Urban County Housing Authority, Bourbon County Housing Authority, Franklin County Housing Authority and Kentucky Housing
Corporation (Rental Assistance Department).
